More pics from Observation Hill... the cross at the top was erected for Scott and the other 5 m
en who died trying to get back from the South Pole. The green buildings are Scott base, the New Zealand station that's not far from McMurdo. 
On the way down, we got a great view of Mt. Erebus, the only active volcano in Antarctica.
